The Moriarty Wedding Weekend

First, I would like to congratulate my cousin Sarah and her new husband Ryan; May God Bless You! At the beginning of last week I went to the doctor for my baby check up and was given the flu shot. I got sick around midnight that night and could not hold any solid food down until Wednesday. My sister and mother came over to nurse me back to health on Tuesday which helped so much! I was freaking out the entire time about the baby's health but the doctor said everything was fine, it was me who needed to get better. I still wasn't feeling all that well on Thursday but we had been planning a trip to New Jersey/New York since we found out the date of my cousins wedding. Our flight was Thursday night and we got in around 9pm. We proceeded to get the rental car which was supposed to be a Nissan Sentra but we ended up with a Cadillac SRX.  Both good cars but luxury was fun!

Friday I took Steven into the city and we did some sight seeing.
Leaving for the city!
Thinking Central Park
Central Park
Time Square
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Steven had a beer in Soho and my family joined us later that evening and we had some New York pizza.
I do not drink the beer!
He's loving it!

Saturday was the wedding and it was beautiful! I had a blast for the time I was there... I got sick and had to leave early but it was still awesome!

Sunday morning Steven and I (and the entire hotel) got woken up at 1:00am because the fire alarm was going off. We had to evacuate the building and we waited an hour to get back in!
From this event I conclude I am great in emergency situations (maybe from working at banks and high schools?) and Steven needs a little work. I was out of bed and had all valuables in 60 seconds... Steven took 3.5 minutes with my help. It was quite the night. Sunday we slept in, woke up at 11:00am, got packed, and headed out. We got breakfast with my family at the Park Ridge Diner (and took fun pictures- see below), which was a whole other event (crazy waitress), and then went shopping at some outlets in Jersey near the airport.

"Testing" Ultrasound

Yesterday I had my second ultrasound at Winnie Palmer. This was the ultrasound where they measure the back of the babies head. It took a total of about 2 1/2 hours with them also drawing blood. Apparently our baby didn't want to cooperate because I had to get up and walk around a few times and when the baby still wouldn't cooperate the sonographer had to bring in the high risk doctor because he is the one that reviews the measurements. By the end of the whole visit I was tired and really hungry. Plus I had a headache but we got some cute pictures! Here are a few images:

Its waving!
You can see the head more clearly.

Plumbing Issues

For those of you that don't know I came home last Tuesday and our room was flooded. This is the second time it has happened. We thought the issue was resolved the first time we had the flood but as our room flooded again, I guess not! Yesterday the plumber came out to fix it and had to cut into our slab, which was noisy. Surprisingly 2 out of 3 dogs did great with the noise (Not Jake... see previous post). The plumber even complimented them after he was done; I am so proud!
This is Vanilla, she is very well behaved.
I am starting to get over the first trimesters woes. Although it hasn't been too bad, I am excited that I don't feel the need to lay down and sleep every second of the day. At the beginning I would literally come home, let the dogs out, and immediately go to sleep. It wouldn't just be a quick nap either, I would sleep pretty much for the rest of the day. I would however get up to eat. I don't know if this has to do with being pregnant but I have also started to feel like there is too much "stuff" around. I have started clearing out/off counters, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. Anything I feel we don't need or is too big goes. If any of you know me well, I am not the cleanest person so the new attitude is interesting. I am also getting rid a lot of clothes. I usually just wear whatever I see first but lately I have been wanting to take pride in my appearance. I think its the hormones but I am proud to be pregnant and want to look it too. Steven has been wonderful in my times of hormonal distress. He has been helping me get rid of everything and when I don't want to clean something myself he jumps right in. He also continues to tell me how fabulous I look and eats just as much as me so I feel better.
Our goal for the weekend is to clean up the second bedroom, the baby room. Also I want to finish fixing up the kitchen and move the furniture in my kitchen to the forth bedroom.

Weekend Fun...

I am so excited, Steven comes home tonight! He has been in George, Washington for DMB concerts. This has been one of the longest times we have been apart since we were married. He left Thursday night and will be home tonight, YAY! My weekend has been interesting too. My grandmother had surgery and she is doing great. I got sick and preceded to get both of my parents sick, oops. Other then that, it was a good weekend.
We have decided that our youngest dog Jake is going to need a new home. He is having trouble with listening which is leading to behavior issues. I think he mostly just wants attention but we have other animals that need attention as well. With the baby coming I can't handle him acting out because we are giving the other animals attention too. So if anyone know someone who may want a mini Australian Shepherd let me know.
Tomorrow, I will officially be 12 weeks but the second trimester starts somewhere between 13-14 weeks. I am not sure when we need to start thinking about the nursery or when I start buying little things we may need, like diapers.

Just the beginning...

First and foremost, yes I am pregnant! As of today I am 11 weeks and 2 days. If your reading this I will have, probably, a lot more blog posts but I wanted to get started as soon as I came up with a name. The name of this blog was picked because these posts will be moments I choose to freeze in time. Kind of like pictures; which there will be a lot of, especially once the baby is born. Steven and I are both extremely excited! A little scared but we are taking one day at a time or at least trying too.
